Museum on the Mound is located in the historic Bank of Scotland Head Office at the top of the Mound (at the junction of Bank Street and North Bank Street). For more info on how to find us, please click here.
From the evolution of money to the history of our banks and brands, our displays chart the story of finance from its earliest times to present day.
Museum entrance is free, as are school visits, digital workshops and other community activities. Please get in touch for details.
Sorry, we don’t have a cafe on site, but there are several within a few minutes walk. Our staff will be happy to suggest some to you.
We only allow Guide Dogs and identifiable Assistance Dogs. No other dogs are allowed in either the museum or the garden area outside.
You can take photos for personal use only. Please do not use a flash or professional camera equipment. If you want to take photos for commercial use, please contact us first.
“Pay & Display” parking can be found on both Market Street (on the north side of the museum) and St Giles St (to the south east). Larger carparks can be found at Castle Terrace and New Street.
We have toilets including an accessible toilet with baby changing table. However, if you require Changing Places facilities, you will need to visit either the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers St, or the Booking Office (JD Wetherspoons) on Waverley Bridge.
