Strike it Lucky!

Ever wanted to have a go at making your own money?! Visitors to Museum on the Mound will have a unique opportunity to make a mediaeval coin this summer.

Coin striking sessions will be held daily at the Museum, 3-4pm, from 13^th July to 30^th August, including weekends and bank holidays.

Visitors will be given a brief overview of how coins were made (struck) by hand in days gone by, using coin dies and hammers.  They will then have a chance to strike a replica 13^th century Scottish penny, which they can take away with them.
